Like many military spouses Beth started writing as part of her "journey to make the absolute most of this crazy life I married into - military spousedom." Along the way she discovered others were on the same journey. That became the basis of Homefront in Focus, to discover and share resources, information, tips and encouragement to enhance all the lives of Navy spouses and other military spouses and parents in a column.

Beth served as a command ombudsman for several years as well as an ombudsman trainer. In addition she worked with spouses of National Guard units. During these experiences she saw the opportunity to utilize base and local papers to communicate information, experiences, opportunities and more for military spouses. What started with one base paper has grown to a spouse support column carried in 15 papers, two blogs, an internet talk show, two e-newsletters as well as seminars for spouse groups.

Her passion remains the same, to make the most of this life and share it with others on the same journey.
